Knife gate valves derive their name from a slanted knife edge cut into a flat valve plate, allowing it to cut off medium and close without blocking.

Typical flow control applications include pulp, coal ash, chemical feedstocks, wastewater and food. The design pressure range is 1.6 MPa and the temperature range is up to 120 °C. Special materials are available for high temperature service.

The valve has significant advantages such as light switch, reliable sealing, good elastic memory and long service life. These include water and wastewater treatment, construction, oil and chemical processing, food processing, medical, textile, power, marine, metallurgical and energy. There are plate gate valves, knife-type mud gate valves, knife-type slag discharge gate valves, single-clamp slurry gate valves and manual single-clamp knife gate valves.

Features of knife gate valve

The ultra-short structural length saves materials and greatly reduces the overall weight of the piping system.
It occupies a small effective space, can effectively support the strength of the pipeline, and can reduce the possibility of pipeline vibration.
Austenitic stainless steel construction greatly increases the corrosion resistance of the gate, effectively eliminating corrosion related leaks.
The upper sealing packing is made of flexible PTFE, which is reliable in sealing and easy to operate.
The gate has the function of a knife, which can effectively break off all kinds of sundries in the medium.
By using hard-sealed stainless steel material and spray-welding the valve disc, the valve can withstand higher temperatures and pressures.
